Guessing is fine for toast. For a Sunday roast or a thick steak, it's nicer to know. Unfold the steel probe, push it into the thickest part and the display gives you the temperature in two to three seconds, in °C or °F. The backlight helps at the barbecue after dark, and the probe folds away so it's safe in the drawer. It is splash-proof, with a magnet on the back and a hole for hanging it near the hob. It works just as well for bread, jam and frying oil. The battery is included.
