Cookies, and no surprises
The full list of what this site keeps in your browser, what is switched off until you agree, and how to change your mind.
Last revised 18 September 2026.
In short
- The site itself keeps 4 small items in your browser’s local storage. They make the site work and never track you across other sites.
- Google Ads and Meta advertising cookies are off until you say yes. “No thanks” keeps them off and the shop works just the same.
- Change your mind whenever you like: “Cookie settings” at the foot of every page opens the choice again.
Cookies, local storage and tags
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to keep. Local storage does a similar job: it is a small notebook inside your browser that only the site that wrote in it can read. A tag (or pixel) is a snippet of code from another company, here Google or Meta, that can set its own cookies and report back to that company.
The law treats them alike. Items that are strictly necessary for something you asked for need no consent. Everything else, advertising included, needs your consent first. That is how this site is built.
What the site stores itself
BonnyBuy sets no cookies of its own for visitors. It uses the local storage items below. None of them is sent to us with your page requests, none is shared with anyone, and none is read by other websites.
bby-cookieslocal storage · strictly necessary
- Purpose:
- Remembers the cookie choice you made, so we do not ask on every page.
- Holds:
- Yes or no for advertising, yes or no for statistics, and the time you chose.
- Kept:
- Until you change your choice or clear this site's data in your browser.
bby-parcellocal storage · strictly necessary
- Purpose:
- Shows your order recap on the confirmation screen after you place an order.
- Holds:
- Order reference, time, total, quantity, the item, your first name, phone number and country.
- Kept:
- Until your next order replaces it or you clear this site's data. It is written only after the order has been accepted.
bby-parcel-told-<order time>local storage · strictly necessary
- Purpose:
- Marks an order as already counted, so reloading the confirmation screen never counts it twice.
- Holds:
- The single character 1.
- Kept:
- Until you clear this site's data.
bby-savedlocal storage · strictly necessary
- Purpose:
- Keeps finds you mark to look at later, on this device only. Written only if you use that feature.
- Holds:
- A list of product identifiers. Nothing that identifies you.
- Kept:
- Until you remove them or clear this site's data.
Only on product pages written in your language
Some products also have a page in the language of one country. Those pages keep up to three more items, for the same kind of purpose:
bby_lead_<language>_<product>local storage · strictly necessary
- Purpose:
- Lets the confirmation screen of that page show your order recap after the form has been sent.
- Holds:
- What you typed in that order form (name, phone number, address) and the time.
- Kept:
- Until you clear this site's data.
bby_sent_<language>_<product>local storage · strictly necessary
- Purpose:
- Remembers that the order form on that page was already sent from this browser, to prevent accidental double orders.
- Holds:
- A time stamp.
- Kept:
- Until you clear this site's data.
bby_conv_<order>local storage · strictly necessary
- Purpose:
- Marks an order as already counted, so reloading the confirmation screen never counts it twice.
- Holds:
- The single character 1.
- Kept:
- Until you clear this site's data.
Forms are protected by a one-time security token. It lives in the page’s memory while the page is open and is not stored in your browser. The staff back office uses a login cookie; visitors never receive it.
Advertising tags, only with your yes
We advertise on Google and on Meta (Facebook and Instagram). To learn which advertisements lead to orders, the site can use the two tags below. Both depend on the “advertising” switch in the cookie choice, which starts in the off position.
Google Ads (Google Ireland Ltd)
The Google tag starts in a restricted mode in which advertising and analytics storage are denied: it sets no advertising cookies and reads none, and may send Google only cookieless signals such as the fact that a page was loaded. If you say yes, it may set cookies such as _gcl_au (90 days) and _gcl_aw (90 days), which remember that you arrived from an advertisement, and Google’s own advertising cookies on its domains. After an order, the confirmation screen reports to Google that an order happened, with its value in euro and an order number. Your name, address, phone number and email are not sent.
Meta pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd)
The Meta pixel is not loaded at all unless you say yes. With your consent it may set _fbp (90 days) and, if you arrived from a Meta advertisement, _fbc (90 days), and it reports page views and, after an order, the order value, the product name and an order number. Your name, address, phone number and email are not sent.
Status today: the Google Ads tag is not switched on for this site, and the Meta pixel is not switched on. A tag that is not switched on does nothing, whatever you choose.
About the “statistics” switch
The cookie choice also has a statistics switch. It tells the Google tag whether it may use analytics storage. We run no separate analytics tool, so leaving it off changes nothing about how the shop works for you.
Google and Meta use what their tags collect for their own purposes too, under their own privacy policies, and may process it in the United States. Legal basis for all of the above: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
How to change your choice
On your first visit a card offers three equal buttons: say yes to everything, say no, or choose switch by switch. Nothing optional is ticked in advance. To come back to it later, use “Cookie settings” at the foot of any page. Your new choice applies at once: switching advertising off tells the tags to stop using their cookies.
You can also delete what is already stored. In your browser’s settings, look for site data or cookies, find this site and remove its data. This clears your cookie choice as well, so the card will greet you again on your next visit. Blocking all storage in your browser is possible, but the order confirmation screen will then not be able to show your recap.
More on how we handle personal data, and your rights, is in the privacy notice.
